TRIP OVERVIEW

Book upper mustang adventure holidays and get lost into the hidden world of Lo, the old Buddhist kingdom of Mustang. Lo is closely related to Tibetan culture, geography and language, as it was used to be a part of the Tibetan empire. The unspoiled nature and the isolation of the region from the outer world make Tibetan culture more alluring. The colours and impression formations are something that draws the wanderers’ attention to Mustang that lies in the rain shadow of Dhaulagiri Massif. The barren landscape is outlined with barely fields, white washed houses, and prayer flags that splash more colours to the landscape. The trail includes the ancient salt caravan route through which Mustang residents traded salt from grain. The goal of the trek is to reach out to the capital of Upper Mustang, Lo Manthang. You can see the walled medieval capital from the pass Lo La (3950 m) which is at distance, the 6-meter white-washed tall wall displaying the sharp contrast to the barren landscape of the Mustang region.
