Annapurna IV 7525M (2025 Fall)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It took me over a month to finally sit down and write the review, as I’ve been reflecting on the reason I was drawn to Annapurna IV in the first place. The more I climbed, the more I realized what truly matters to me in any expedition — not just altitude or adrenaline, but the sense of exploration and adventure, both outwardly and inwardly. It’s about raw, intact nature, vast landscapes, and the rare chance to explore less “popular” peaks with a small group of people who genuinely adore the mountains.
NAMAS is really unique in this regard, as they are probably the only operator I’ve come across with that true explorer mindset, organizing expeditions on rarely-climbed 7,000-meter peaks, running small teams, trailblazing rather than following others’ steps, and having a team of Sherpas who are highly competent, caring, and really know what they are doing when it comes to the mountains they operate on — which makes all the difference when you venture onto peaks like Annapurna IV.
I’ve always been less interested in chasing summits for sheer numbers. What I value is the solitude, the ability to fully enjoy the experience, and hopefully to climb in slightly better style every single time. Annapurna IV, which is a technically demanding, rarely-climbed 7,500-meter peak, seemed to perfectly fit that profile, being challenging but not overcrowded, offering stunning views, where I could try pushing my limits a little bit further without supplemental oxygen.
If your ideal expedition is similar (to climb with purpose, explore places very few people have been to, and share good vibes with like-minded people who respect the mountains and local culture), Annapurna IV is definitely worth considering, and NAMAS is absolutely the team to go with.
Of course, I cannot leave the review without mentioning the impressive setup at base camp, the delicious food thanks to the effort of the kitchen crew (I will come back for more scrambled eggs and momos!), the kindness and professionalism of our climbing Sherpas, and the extremely well-organised logistics. I had the pleasure of meeting Bisesh in person in London to discuss my experiences, so didn’t have much exchange with Sushmita prior to booking, but trust me, if here is anything you are unsure about, she is the best and most responsive!
Simply a 10/10 experience with amazing people. Thank you NAMAS team for making it happen!

Annapurna IV 7525M (2025 Fall)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I climbed Annapurna IV with NAMAS Adventure in Oct of 202. From the time I made my first inquiry in April, I knew I’d be in good hands. Sushimita was prompt, thorough and professional in her responses to my endless questions. My request to have a video call with the trip manager Bisesh who is also the founder of NAMAS was quickly accommodated. Here are a few highlights that show how attentive to details the NAMAS team are:
1. Airport pickup and drop off: nicely arranged, clearly communicated to us ahead of time. Family also received detailed contact info in case of emergency.
2. Hotel stays before and after the climb in Kathmandu: beautiful, safe and conveniently located posh hotels with western amenities and thoughtful cultural touches all included in our trip costs.
3. Cultural excursions: thoughtful arrangements of a visit to Pokhara in the company of a sherpa we climbed with. It eases the logistical hassles we had to deal with so we can focus on enjoyment and exploration.
4. Tea houses: every tea house we stayed at has established relationships with NAMAS. We were welcome in the kitchens and treated like family.
5. Basecamp: I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and accessibility of the basecamp: each of us had our own personal tent to rest, a shower/bath tent, a toilet tent, dining/community tent, kitchen tent, supply tent… starlink access, snacks and great food choices from print menus.
6. Training plans: our acclimatization and rotation days were thoughtfully planned and implemented to ensure our summit success.
7. Sherpas and other support staff: our Sherpas (1:1ratio) are very knowledgeable and experienced with the Himalayan mountains, including Sherpas who have summited Everest 24 times. They are strong, fun, meticulous, caring and professional too. We were able to achieve 100% summit success largely because of their expertise and dedication.
8. On this climb, NAMAS helped us four climbers achieve a few firsts: first American woman, first ethnic Chinese, first Australian… to summit this beast.
If you are looking for a Himalayan guiding company who knows how to do things right and who is willing to partner with you to accomplish your mountain goals, look no further than NAMAS. I’m surely happy I found them for my first Himalayan climb. Can’t wait to climb with NAMAS again.

Himlung Himal (2025 Fall)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I summited Himlung Himal in October, and I’m glad to say that everyone in our group reached the summit as well.
What I especially appreciated was that each climber had their own Sherpa — it allowed us to move at our own pace and made the experience much more personal. The Sherpas were excellent and truly did everything possible to help us reach the top.
The base camp service also deserves praise — the food was great, and we could choose our meals from a menu according to our own preferences.

I climbed Annapuran IV with NAMAS and was very impressed with the expedition. By far had best setup at base camp and food was great. No shortcuts when it came to climbing safely and had very well experienced sherpas. Definetly recommend climbing with them.

Mera Peak (October 2025)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Namas do the mountaineeering side of things very, very well. Also, when travel plans go sideways due to unforseen events (weather etc.), the Namas team on the ground really works magic to mitigate any issues and help their clients achieve the best outcomes possible.
Ultimately, the "Signature" prices didn't seem entirely worth it (except to fit my time schedule), so I think I will try to get more time off for my next expedition.
As for my experience, once in the mountains, where it mattered most, Namas was excellent - safety and success seemed the priority, and the credit for that goes to directly Ngima Sherpa.
As far as the entire experience, Namas did better marketing and on-boarding me as a client than some other companies I have used. So kudos to their team for that.
To me, "Signature" means everything is better than the norm, and you pay for it, which I did. As far as my experience with "Signature," the only thing consistently above normal was Ngima Sherpa. He was extraordinary. And the helicopter in and out of the mountain areas was arranged even when communications failed. That was well done.
Other than that, well, the experience was simply not "Signature." Not bad, but not superior.
The Hilton had been destroyed, so I had to stay at a lesser hotel (there are plenty of other Hilton-level hotels) and instead of upgrading my room (I checked, upgrades were available), I was booked to stay in the same level room at this lesser hotel as Namas guests who had not paid for a "Signature" experience. Of course Namas' Staff and Hotel employees were courteous and helpful, but the facility itself was sub-par and definitely not "Signature" by any stretch of the imagination.
Perhaps Namas should rename the more pricy expedition "Time Saving." Because ultimately that's really what it was, and that primarily because of the helicopter use (which is most of the added cost as well).
I definitely recommend using Namas' regular services and expeditions, but don't recommend paying extra for "Signature," unless and only if you need to save time.

Mera Peak May 2025
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Namas are a fantastic group of people and helped me realize my dream of climbing to 6000M on Mera Peak.
As many people mentioned, Bisesh is extraordinarily attentive and responsive to every question that is asked in the trip planning process.
On arrival in Kathmandu, the team take care of your every need regarding gear and prep.
Moving up the mountain, Sherpa Paljor and porter Hasti were outstanding in every way - knowledgeable, careful, caring. During adverse weather conditions that prevented other climbers from summiting, Bisesh was engaged from the US to select the best weather window to go high on the mountain. This was happening in parallel with Bisesh managing teams on Everest in bad weather.
Paljor had two-way radios, sat phone and even an oxygen bottle for my safety at 6000m!
Coming back down from 6000m, Bisesh worked his magic to coordinate choppers from Khare to Lukla and Lukla to Kathmandu for a fun and amazing exit!
Back in Kathmandu, I was met by Sushmita and Ngima to take care of everything before departure.
Bisesh runs an amazing organization in MAMAS and it shows in every employee who seem so happy to work for this great team.
Highly recommended ! (6 Stars!)

2024 Baruntse 7129M Expedition
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Having just submitted Baruntse with NAMAS I have nothing but praise for the entire team. The expedition ran smoothly and effectively allowing me the best chance of summit success.
In preparation for the expedition Bisesh answered countless questions and provided all the necessary information ensuring I was as prepared as possible. The highly skilled and competent Sherpa team ensured our comfort and safety both during the trek in and on the mountain. Basecamp was made as comfortable as possible with individual tents, a mess tent and hardworking kitchen staff who exceeded all expectations by providing the most delicious and nutritious meals.
The Sherpa support was second to none. Lead Sherpa Paljor managed the logistics meticulously and went to great lengths to ensure I was as well prepared as possible for the summit push, including lending me his glove liners! He ensured my safety throughout and had his finger on the pulse at all times from base camp. I undoubtedly owe my summit success to Saila Tamang and Chewang Sherpa. As well as being incredibly kind, patient and attentive they are highly competent and skilled mountaineers whose judgement I trust implicitly. I felt safe on the mountain despite its hostility and objective dangers. I feel incredibly fortunate to have achieved the summit and it was a huge privilege to do so with such a proficient team who have taught me countless mountain skills to take forward to future expeditions.
Thank you team NAMAS for helping create memories of a lifetime

2023 Annapurna IV Fall Expedition
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another great expedition! This was my third time with Namas and it exceeded expectations.
The kindness, skill, and unity of the Namas team was palpable all the time. They again proved to be super-efficient, resourceful, always with a smile, and radiating great team spirit. The sherpas were outstanding. Kind and helpful, with great skill and insight and a good sense of humor. A lot of them knew each other, it had a family feel to it.
Paljor who helped me last year on Himlung Himal is such a great chap. Rental gear was good, a warm comfy Kailash sleeping bag, Black Diamond crampons, and Harness and helmet. Basecamp set up was excellent and well organised. A nice roomy tent for each and a great communal-dining tent in stunning location.
We pushed up high quite fast because of a short favourable weather window and finished the expedition a week ahead of schedule! A tough but very interesting mountain. Recommended. I especially got to appreciate and love ‘the wall’, between basecamp and camp 1.
It was great to have Bisesh as a team member! Looking forward to my next expedition with Namas.

2023 Himlung Himal Fall Expedition
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I successfully submitted Himlung Himal with Namas in October, and I cannot say good enough things about my experience. From the very first they were prompt in answering my many questions with detailed answers. During the expedition itself, the team was very organized with much attention paid to the clients’ wellbeing as we climbed in altitude. Base camp was surprisingly comfortable, and I ate better there than at home. All of the guides were very friendly, experienced, and made the trip a lot of fun. I will definitely be using them for my next expedition.
