Highlights

Overview

This expedition program is the holy grail and the most powerful entry into multi-days high-altitude mountaineering. Our Triple Summit Challenge combines the thrill of adventure with the unmatched reward of summiting three iconic peaks in one unforgettable expedition. This isn’t just a trek/climb—it’s a bold adventure for those ready to prepare, commit, and elevate their limits. It’s for those willing to prepare, commit, and push beyond their comfort zone. It’s for those who want more than just a trek—those who want a real mountain challenge.

If you’re ready to test your limits, gain life-changing experience, and set the stage for even bigger expeditions ahead, this is your calling. One trip. Three summits. A lifetime of stories.

We will ascend three beautiful 20,000-foot (6000+ meter) peaks which offer some of the most spectacular settings in the world. Join this trip to trek through the hidden gems of the Everest region, including Gokyo lake, and three high passes. Experience the mountain and Sherpa culture, and enjoy the amazing feat of climbing Mera Peak (6,476M), Island Peak (6189m), Lobuche East (6119m).

From the summit of Mera Peak, five 8,000m peaks are visible: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Kangchenjunga, as well as many other Himalayan peaks. Island Peak 6189M is the most technical of the three 6000M+ peaks in this expedition. Climbers will pass through a steel ladder to cross the crevasse openings and climb or descend a vertical 90-degree wall just before or after the summit. Lobuche peak is another 6000M peak that is moderate yet technical in the itinerary.

The Three Peaks of Nepal Expedition consists of moderately technical climbing, with Island Peak being the most technical climb (graded at 2B). It is achievable for anyone in good physical condition and with a desire for high adventure. Our team will help you develop and advance your alpine climbing skills as we undertake this fantastic journey and climb three different, amazing peaks.

October 2022, Khumbu Three Peak Expedition

Are you highly doubtful on which guide or expedition company to choose for travelling to Nepal? My One answer recommendation would be to choose, “NAMAS”.

From the first day after I had the thought to the successful summit of three mountain peaks, NAMAS helped me every step of the way to convert it into a reality. I was in a dilemma whether to take this climbing trip, but NAMAS WAY (their support system) made sure all my questions were answered. They answered my questions from the very start and Bishesh (owner) personally emailed me back on every question I had about the trip. The big money I spent on this costly yet memorable three peak expedition was fully worth it with the level of enthusiasm NAMAS team demonstrated.

My airport pickup was full of hospitality and warm conversations with the team. Before I took the rest on arrival day, the pre-expedition briefing was perfectly communicated by the team. The unfavourable conditions let us down and we could not take the helicopter due to climate conditions. However, the conditions of weather, the jeep travel and local transportation was all handled seamlessly by the Namas Team. The contingency planning measures and adjusting to sudden weather changes is very easy with Namas and they are highly hospitable.

Additionally, I would like to thank my reliable mentors and guides on the mountain Karma Rita Sherpa and Mingma Tshering Sherpa. Everyone including Karma and Mingma were highly experienced. Even as a novice climber, I could easily conquer the summit of three peaks with the NAMAS Team and their excellent guidance. They took care of every stage of the journey from choosing the best teahouses to offering meals on trekking days and expedition day. The hand warmers provided in the high camp were my favourite memories of the trip. Thanks to their well organised and planned expedition, I was easily able to conquer the summit climb.

If I ever go mountaineering expedition again,  it will definitely be with the NAMAS team.

  • USD 750 (The fee is applicable for private expedition or single person only expedition only)

The NAMAS philosophy revolves to limit the team size for additional safety and heightened summit success chances. The single supplement charge is applied for private solo climbing itinerary exclusively. Additionally, the Single participant supplement charges may also apply when shared logistics in the mountain peaks are impossible to be achieved and the condition demands private logistics. The supplement charges are applied to all the team climbers to cover fixed costs of climbing which are generally shared between the climbers of normal condition. The application of charges is conducted to ensure safety, staff requirements according to mountain factors, logistics and operational standards.

From your very first conversation with our experienced team, you receive tailored recommendations that match your goals and climbing background. Once the right expedition is confirmed, a deposit locks in your place on the team. We then work side by side with you to plan every detail of the trip, covering gear selection, training guidance, insurance, permits, and full logistical coordination.

2. Preparing for the Journey

As your departure date draws near, we help you wrap up all remaining preparations. This covers collecting the final balance payment, which is typically due 60 to 90 days before the expedition begins, making sure all your documents are complete and valid, and answering any outstanding questions you may have. Our team stays reachable by email and phone throughout this phase so you arrive at the trailhead feeling ready and confident.

3. On-Expedition Support

Frequently Asked Questions on Khumbu 3 Peak Expedition

About The Three Mountains

  • This expedition takes you to three iconic beginner-level 6000m peaks located in the Mera-Barun and Khumbu region of eastern Nepal.

  • Spring (March to May) is the top recommended window. This season typically brings clear skies, settled weather, and solid snow conditions across the high terrain.

Hint: There are less traffic during March departures.

Autumn (late September to November) is the another best climbing window and offers similarly good conditions across the Khumbu region.

  • Mera Peak holds the title of the highest trekking peak in the Himalayas and is the least technical of the high altitude climbing peaks available in Nepal.

Island Peak is one of the most popular semi-technical climbing peaks in the Khumbu and is accessed via the south route, which remains the only established line to the summit.

Lobuche East is another semi technical climbing peak in Khumbu valley. We will be climbing the south east ridge route to summit the peak.

  • All three peaks in this expedition sit at the beginner level in terms of technical difficulty. That said, the overall challenge is physically and mentally serious. Over 25 to 26 days, climbers move through remote high-altitude terrain and push for three separate 6000m summits. This demands strong endurance, solid mental toughness, and a genuine courage to cope the  challenging realities of Himalayan expedition adventures.

  • On Mera Peak, summit day is a relatively straightforward push to the top with a small number of crevasse openings along the route which carry very minimal risk. The climb moves across ice and snow and starts in the early morning hours on all three peaks. On Island Peak and Lobuche East, climbers use fixed line rope to ascend to the summit.

  • As with any great climb, the view from the top makes everything worthwhile. Mera Peak is a particular favourite among climbers for what it delivers on the way up. From the summit a top Mera, you can soak in views of five 8000m giants: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Kangchenjunga, along with a wide spread of other Himalayan peaks. The panoramas on all three mountains will not let you down.

  • We hold a 100% safety record and a 90% summit success record across this expedition

  • Contingency days are not built into the standard itinerary but the schedule can be extended on request if our team is unable to summit due to extremely poor weather windows.

  • Please reach out to our team directly and we will recommend the right next objective based on your performance and goals during this expedition. However, its best to take one step at a time, the aim of climbing Everest is a goal for every climber. We recommend you to get proper understanding and exposure to other extreme mountains like Amadablam 6810M,  Baruntse Peak 7129M, Annapurna IV 7525M, Manaslu 8163M, Tilicho Peak 7134M , Himlung Himal 7126M, Spantik 7027M, and Lenin Peakfor your serious high expedition climbing adventures in the future.

Experiences - Preprations

  • All three peaks on this trip are 6000m climbing objectives suited to beginner and novice mountaineers. Whether this is the right adventure for you comes down to your personal ambition and where you currently stand in your climbing journey. Our grading system is a useful starting point to help you assess whether this is the right fit and the right time. If you are still unsure, contact our team directly and we will walk through your current experience level with you and point you toward the right next step.

  • Climbers should have a working knowledge of safety rope knots, abseiling, and ascending and descending with a rope. A strong base fitness level with both the endurance capacity and physical strength is essential for this expedition journey.

  • Basic rope handling and movement on snow and ice are the core technical requirements. Full technical mountaineering experience is not required, but ability to climb comfortably on steep mountain terrain and the basic climbing equipment knowledge is strongly recommended. We additionally recommend you to join a wall climbing gym for improvement basic equipment knowledge.

  • Focus your training on building aerobic endurance through hiking, running, or cycling at sustained effort. Add strength training that targets legs and core. Practice long days on high terrain where possible and get time in with a loaded pack. Altitude exposure prior to the trip is a bonus wherever it can be arranged. Additionally, with the training mentioned above diligently complete the Training Peaks hypoxic training included in the 3 Peaks package.

  • The total baggage allowance under the expedition journey is limited to 30kg / 66lbs. However, your personal daypack during trekking and climbing will be significantly lighter because you will be carrying only what you need for the climb day. The rest of the equipments will be rotated between camps by sherpas and climbing guides during the expedition journeys.

  • During trekking days, accommodation is in local Sherpa tea houses. These are welcoming places with real cultural character. We book the best available lodges in each village and have strong, ongoing relationships with the owners. The places we use are clean, tidy, and well maintained. Private rooms are available at an added cost. Standard bookings are based on shared rooms, usually twin-share and occasionally triple-share. On the mountain, tents are shared between two climbers and sometimes three. If you want a personal tent during expedition days, a base camp private tent can be arranged. Let us know well in advance so our team can sort the logistics.

If you would like a personal tent during Expedition days, Base camp personal tent can be arranged. Please do let us know in advance so that our team can make the necessary arrangements.

  • The tea houses we stay in during trekking days offer hot showers and laundry services for a small additional fee. However, the showers are not available on base camps in the high mountains. We advise you to carry wet wipes for the climb days and basecamp stays to maintain hygiene.

  • All our expeditions are fully inclusive of the meals. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are covered along with plenty of hot and cold drinks throughout both trekking and expedition days. We can accommodate vegetarians and many other dietary requirements as long as we are informed before the trip begins. However, we offer frozen quick heated meals in high camps.

  • No. Camp setup is handled entirely by our team before you arrive at each high camp. The meals are prepared by the kitchen team and served to you. Additionally the heated pot of water will also be provided to you by the guide and kitchen team every evening.

Guides - Teams

  • We keep group sizes to a maximum of eight climbers. Each group is led by one head guide who holds IFMGA or NNMGA certification and serves as the overall team leader. A western guide with IFMGA certification can be arranged on request at additional cost. We believe Nepalese IFMGA certified guides are fully capable at the highest level and communicate excellently in English. Our approach prioritises local Nepalese leadership as part of our commitment to responsible tourism, though we are happy to arrange a western guide if that is your preference. The Sherpa ratio is 1:2 for climbers. Our Sherpas are NNMGA certified and trained through the Khumbu Climbing Centre. A personal 1:1 Sherpa can be arranged at additional cost for clients who want dedicated individual support. Our Sherpas communicate at an intermediate level of English and are fully capable of understanding, responding, and giving instruction clearly on the mountain.

  • The recommended tip is USD 300 per person for the guiding team members.

  • Yes, this is available at additional cost. Team guides are experts and know the mountains like back of their hand. If you still wish to experience climbing under a personal guide contact our team directly to arrange a 1:1 personal guide service.

  • The standard ratio is 1 guide to every 2 cliThe standard ratio is 1 guide to every 2 clients.ents.

  • A maximum of 8 climbers per group.

  • This expedition is open to all motivated climbers aged 18 and above who are seeking a beginner to intermediate level mountaineering experience. Climbers between 15 and 17 years of age are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult throughout the expedition.
