What Our Climbers Say

"There are adventure operators, and then there’s Namas Adventure. I completed the Island Peak summit and Everest Base Camp trek with them, and the difference between a good expedition and a great one often comes down to the people behind it. From my very first inquiry, Sushmita was exceptional.. responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure I was prepared. That quality didn’t stop at the pre-trip stage. On the ground in Kathmandu and through every checkpoint to Lukla, the Namas team was present, proactive, and flexible. When logistics hit snags, as they always do at altitude, they found workarounds without drama and without compromising the plan. I never felt like a booking number. I felt like someone they were personally accountable to. For high-stakes expeditions where the margin for error is thin and the stakes are real, that kind of operational trust is everything. I’ll be back…."

"I highly recommend NAMAS for any Peak Climbing expeditions you may be interested in Nepal. Having researched in some depth about 6-8 companies for my Himlung Himal (7126m) expedition, I settled on NAMAS. At the core of this enterprise and my pain point of contact, is Sushmita. The engine that drives everything forward! Quick to respond to my myriad of questions. For me a key component on choosing a Tour Company is the wealth of knowledge/expertise that they can provide and communicate - NAMAS/Sushmita really ticked this box. It helps when you have passionate people involved. Sushmita is working on her Masters in Adventure Tourism. I was also fortunate to be in KTM when their Founder, Bisesh Gurung, was in town. So I got to understand the philosophy first-hand. I like that they only specialise in above 6000m Peak Climbing. They have built a reputation and expertise around this. On the ground, everyone involved with NAMAS (Guides, Porters, Cooks, Base Camp Staff) were first class. Really looked after me. Logistics were seamless. Are they the cheapest? No. However, with risk involved, I lean towards what makes me comfortable in my decision. I do not regret my decision choosing NAMAS!

"t took me over a month to finally sit down and write the review, as I’ve been reflecting on the reason I was drawn to Annapurna IV in the first place. The more I climbed, the more I realized what truly matters to me in any expedition — not just altitude or adrenaline, but the sense of exploration and adventure, both outwardly and inwardly. It’s about raw, intact nature, vast landscapes, and the rare chance to explore less “popular” peaks with a small group of people who genuinely adore the mountains. NAMAS is really unique in this regard, as they are probably the only operator I’ve come across with that true explorer mindset, organizing expeditions on rarely-climbed 7,000-meter peaks, running small teams, trailblazing rather than following others’ steps, and having a team of Sherpas who are highly competent, caring, and really know what they are doing when it comes to the mountains they operate on — which makes all the difference when you venture onto peaks like Annapurna IV."

"Another great expedition! This was my third time with Namas and it exceeded expectations. The kindness, skill, and unity of the Namas team was palpable all the time. They again proved to be super-efficient, resourceful, always with a smile, and radiating great team spirit. The sherpas were outstanding. Kind and helpful, with great skill and insight and a good sense of humor. A lot of them knew each other, it had a family feel to it. Paljor who helped me last year on Himlung Himal is such a great chap. Rental gear was good, a warm comfy Kailash sleeping bag, Black Diamond crampons, and Harness and helmet. Basecamp set up was excellent and well organised. A nice roomy tent for each and a great communal-dining tent in stunning location. We pushed up high quite fast because of a short favourable weather window and finished the expedition a week ahead of schedule! A tough but very interesting mountain. Recommended. I especially got to appreciate and love ‘the wall’, between basecamp and camp 1. It was great to have Bisesh as a team member! Looking forward to my next expedition with Namas.

Yes, Nepal still has a number of unclimbed (Virgin Peaks) or rarely ascended peaks at altitudes between 6,000 and 7,000 m. Regions like Mustang, Humla, and Dolpa are home to many unclimbed or rarely climbed peaks such as Chhuama Peaks, Koti Himal, Shey Shikhar, and many more.
Peaks over 6,000 meters permits vary according to its classifications and region. Most peaks in Nepal above 6,000 m require permits from Nepal mountaineering Association or Ministry of Tourism Expedition permit. In addition to these permits, climbers are also required to obtain the respective National park , conservation area permit, or Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) Card to reach base camps.
Namas Adventure focuses on small group mountaineering expeditions to maximise safety, flexibility, and summit success rate. The group size is limited to 1 to 8 climbers, and Namas provides a 1:1 or 1:2 guide-to-climbers ratio along with a highly experienced sherpa team for tailored support.
You should train on cardiovascular endurance and core body strength to climb high-altitude mountains over 6000 m. Namas Adventure suggests structured training from 3 to 4 months prior to your expedition by focusing on aerobic conditioning and strength-building routines. Also training to navigate and get familiar with gears and accessories is also critically important.
