Nepal Flood Appeal 2026

On the morning of 26th August 2026, a catastrophic flash flood tore through a 72-kilometre stretch of the Trishuli River valley in north-central Nepal. Triggered by a glacial collapse on the Nepal-Tibet border, the wall of water destroyed the Gyirong border crossing, swept away entire villages, and caused an estimated NPR 200 billion in damages.
At least 903 deaths have been confirmed, with over 4,200 people still missing across the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan. More than 17,000 children are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, and 41 bridges and 42 kilometres of road have been destroyed, cutting off communities from rescue and relief.
Beyond the immediate rescue, affected communities face critical shortages of shelter, food, safe water, and healthcare — with winter approaching and entire neighbourhoods buried under mud and debris.
As a Nepali-led organisation with deep roots in these mountains and the people who call them home, we feel a responsibility to act. Our commitment is immediate and practical.
How We Will Help
In the short and medium term, our team on the ground will coordinate directly with Hami Nepal, a trusted local charity organisation, to purchase and deliver essential relief supplies to those who need them most throughout September and October. Any remaining funds will be transferred directly to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund to support longer-term recovery efforts.
We have confidence that the Nepali government will play its role in long-term rebuilding. Right now, the urgent need is immediate relief — and that is where every contribution will go.
