Some frequent enquiries

Frequently Asked Questions

Objectives in this altitude band demand genuine technical preparation, structured acclimatisation, and experienced high-altitude leadership. These are not trekking summits. They require ice axe competency, rope work, and the ability to perform under sustained physical stress. The rewards, however, are proportionally greater.
Yes. Nepal's permit system includes a number of peaks in this range that receive very few expeditions each season. Regions such as Dolpo, Humla, Kangchenjunga, and Tsum Valley hold objectives that remain genuinely remote and, in some cases, historically under-attempted. Namas Adventure holds specialist knowledge of these routes.
Prior high-altitude experience above 5,000 metres is strongly recommended. Candidates should be comfortable on steep snow and mixed terrain, physically fit from structured training, and familiar with crampons and ice axe use. Prior guiding experience on trekking peaks such as Island Peak or Mera Peak is a reliable foundation
Every expedition itinerary is built around conservative altitude gain, with deliberate rest days and rotational climbs to condition the body progressively. Our altitude medicine specialists review each programme individually. No summit schedule is allowed to override physiological readiness.
Permit requirements vary by peak classification and region. Most objectives in the 6,000 to 7,000 metre range require a Nepal Mountaineering Association or Ministry of Tourism expedition permit, alongside national park and conservation area entry fees. Namas Adventure manages the full permit process on behalf of every expedition team.
