Overview

Himlung Himal (7126 meters) is a classic Himalayan expedition known for being one of the lesser difficult and least technical 7000 meter+ mountains to climb (although it should not be underestimated). It has the highest recorded summit success rate (according to the Himalayan Database) compared to other peaks. Himlung Himal is also renowned as one of the safest climbable peaks with fewer technical difficulties. It is located in the same Himalayan belt as other giants like Manaslu and the Annapurna massif, so you can expect stunning views of the surrounding peaks from the summit.

The expedition begins with a trek through the Annapurna trail and deviates towards the remote and beautiful villages of Nar and Phu. All expedition teams set up their base camp at 4900 meters, which is located at the upper borders of Phu village. A safer route was pioneered around 2013 by Kari Kobler (Switzerland) and is relatively short with limited difficulty and objective danger. It shortcuts the previous route by ascending the south flank of the northwest ridge to reach its upper crest.

Pre-requisite requirements (5000M - 6000M minimum one or more): Mt. Elbrus (Europe) ,Kilimanjaro (Africa), Khumbu 3 Peak expedition (Nepal),Chulu West (Nepal),Lobuche East & Island Peak (Nepal), Aconcagua (South America), Mt, Blanc. (Europe) (Similar range 4000M to 6000M peaks or higher)
